Labour is still only tied with the Conservatives. Keir Starmer is rubbish. The de facto Leader of the Opposition is Marcus Rashford. He has never suggested that his family's extreme poverty began only when he was 13, or a few months short of it. But until then, having been born on 31st October 1997, he had only ever lived under a Labour Government.
Any Labour candidate in 2024 will at least have to pretend to believe that Starmer ought to become Prime Minister. Here at North West Durham, the Labour candidate really will believe that the Blair Government, under which little Marcus with a working mother sometimes did not eat on a given day, was Britain's greatest administration ever. Please give generously.
