Behind The Times

He Who Must Not Be Named is once again stropping that if you work for RT or Sputnik, then you will never have "a career in journalism".

This time, it is because those outlets give a platform to "Covid-19 sceptics", people with whom I strongly disagree.

Well, even if you were yourself a Covid-19 sceptic, then the Daily Telegraph or the Mail on Sunday, to name but two, would be more than happy to employ you.

And working for RT or Sputnik is itself reaching a large and growing audience, for perfectly good money.

He Who Must Not Be Named, on the other hand, is now published only by obscure websites that pay little or nothing. He does not need the money, but even so.

His bizarre rant against me on one of those sites has never been picked up by The Times, even though it refers to a story that that newspaper reported at the time.

He used to use its headed notepaper to send threatening letters to his enemies' relatives. But no more. Does he still have any connection to it?
