Targeted, But Not Harassment

The very best of luck to Diane Abbott in her campaign against the targeted harassment of her by Lord Sugar on Twitter. The official line from Oliver Kamm and from the student journalism that, of which another time, he now very largely controls is that I have been removed from Twitter for targeted harassment.

But that is not the case. None of the four subjects, at least three of whom were on Twitter, complained about the single tweet in question, and it is perfectly possible that none of them has ever even seen it to this day. Twitter never asked me to remove it. In any case, it made an entirely factual statement that had been in the public domain for a decade.

No, I have been removed, like many others of similar views, because there is a General Election coming. Although I do not deny that the Liberal Establishment is particularly vexed to be reminded of the sheer debauchery of the Blair Government, when this country was run for 10 years, plus a further six under David Cameron, by a what could only have been described as a cocaine-fulled orgy.

Then again, Tony Blair, and even Cameron by the time that he became Prime Minister, were themselves quite run-of-the-mill where personal morality was concerned, whatever they may have tolerated around them. I would not be surprised if Blair had never taken any illegal drug in his life. I would bet my last penny that he had never been unfaithful to his wife. Contrast that with Boris Johnson.

Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. A new party is now in the process of registration. After nearly 30 years of suggestion, speculation, and even a sort of preparation, I will stand for Parliament here at North West Durham. The crowdfunding page is here, and buy the book here. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
