"Hong Kong Dominates The Headlines"?

Dominates them in Britain, perhaps. Nowhere else. The very last gasp of Colonel Blimp. It is quite comical, really.

But the place was never really ours, nobody there wept to see us go, today's protesters were either very small or not born when we did, the people who are now making a fuss about Hong Kong changed the law to keep its people out of Britain on racial grounds in the 1980s, and in any case there would be absolutely nothing that we or anyone else could do about it even if we wanted to.

There is far worse unrest in France, a country that is visible from Britain with the naked eye. But you never hear about that. How odd.
