Ignore anything to do with abortion. Kavanaugh would not restrict that and take away so many people's reason to vote Republican.
The Democrats know that, but they now have to pretend that he would, in order to keep people voting for them rather than for more economically egalitarian and internationally pacific options within or beyond the Democratic Party.
No, the trouble with Brett Kavanaugh is that he believes that the President cannot be indicted. This is not about any conspiracy theory involving Russia or what have you. This is about the principle. A principle that, unlike abortion, might in fact come up in practice.
Kavanaugh believes this ridiculous and pernicious thing. And that as good as guarantees that he also believes several more besides.
