Muhammad has been the single most common name for newborn boys in Britain for a good many years now.
It is not the name of any large number or proportion of newborn boys in Britain, though. Add together the very traditional English ones, just for a start, and you would arrive at an enormously larger figure.
Muhammad is also the single most common name for newborn boys in Israel. Not the West Bank. Not the Gaza Strip. The pre-1967 borders of Israel.
Again, that has been the case for a good many years now.
People who do not like either of these facts need to ask about the size of their own families.
Or just get over it.
Or both.
