Who Is Malala?

Herewith, the material that got me banned from The Spectator last year, and banned from Breitbart London this year.

I do not deny that she was attacked, as many others have been. But just a common or garden schoolgirl from the Swat Valley? She speaks faultless English.

Faultless, apart from that self-righteous, self-regarding, adolescent female tone of voice.

How did she come by her BBC Urdu blog at the age of 11? (Eleven, people. Eleven.) Was there a lottery, or something?

She is now represented by Edelman. Her Fund is chaired by someone from McKinsey. She has addressed the UN. Did you catch that? She has addressed the UN.

She has been awarded the Sakharov Prize. The attempt to fix the Nobel Peace Prize for her came within an ace of success last year, and has succeeded this year.

She has published an autobiography, doubtless a thrilling page-turner. There is now a two-month wait to interview her.

Her image hangs in the National Portrait Gallery. What?

It is going to be so much fun when this all falls apart. So many people are going to look so very, very, very silly.
