Switzerland: Liberty, Not Libya

As it heats up, my mind turns to this, from early August:

"Here’s what the Swiss should do immediately as well as permanently: ban all Libyans from entering the country. Expel all Libyan diplomats and Libyan passport holders. Freeze all Libyan assets until Hannibal Gaddafi gives himself up and is tried in a Swiss court of law. Demand an apology from the head clown for blackmailing the only truly democratic country in Europe. Then throw the little scumbag in jail and make him pay millions to the beaten servants. Then sit back and watch Gaddafi fold quicker than you can say accordion."

Switzerland is - or, at least, was until noon on Wednesday - one of the very last genuinely self-governing and self-respecting countries left on earth, so the Swiss might just do as Taki (who knows their country well) suggests. Here’s hoping.

Note that it takes a proper conservative - anti-neocon, duly anti-war, and relentlessly critical of the Gulf monarchies on which the George Bushes and Hillary Clintons of the world are financially dependent (and which are busily buying up the economies of every Western country except, until this week, truly sovereign Switzerland) - to say something like this.
