Heróis do Mar, Nobre Povo, Nação Valente, Imortal

Portugal has re-affirmed that marriage is the union of one man and one woman. Not like Connecticut, which has followed Massachusetts and California, despite already having a civil partnerships law.

Portugal is our ancient and continuing ally (look how she let us use the Azores during the Falklands War), and the hallowed land, both of the successfully anti-Fascist and anti-Marxist Estado Novo (so like our own mainstream of economically social democratic moral and social conservatism, though in more immediate danger), and of successfully anti-Fascist and anti-Marxist Lusotopicalism (so like our own mainstream of British and Commonwealth patriotism).

Having changed its tactics but not its aims, the Maoism that overthrew both the Estado Novo and Lusotropocalism is now ensconced, in full "free"-marketeering and pro-Bush form, at the very highest levels of the Eurofederalism that seeks to overthrow even that which remains of our economically social democratic, morally and socially conservative British and Commonwealth patriotism. But the fightback has clearly started right at home in Portugal.

Meanwhile, with the lead coming from there rather than from a growing number of the United States, where are "Christian America" and "secular Europe" now?
