Healthy Development

We used to joke at university about how right-wing Jonathan Ashworth was, and his career since then can suggest to people a certain Vicar of Bray attitude.

But the truth is that he was never a Blairite, and while he is not a Corbynite, as such, either, it is notable that he can survive and thrive on Jeremy Corbyn's front bench.

Like, for local readers, Neil Fleming, he has always been to my right, and he always will be, but he has no more been Hard Right than I have been Hard Left, whatever that is. Even Neil's mask used to slip occasionally.

And now, Jonathan, which is the name under which I got to know him, is doing sterling work against the disastrous consequences of the kind of NHS privatisation that the Blair Government used to advocate and implement all the time.

Neil, meanwhile, would be more than welcome as one of my four Political Advisors, with the other three drawn from the local Independents, the local Liberal Democrats, and the local Conservatives.

The political advice of the present MP's Political Advisor has cost 472 Teaching Assistants 23 per cent of their pay. Neil has certainly never done anything like that, and nor have the local Independents, or the local Liberal Democrats, or the local Conservatives.

Another hung Parliament is coming, and our people need to hold the balance of power in it. My crowdfunding page is here, or email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com for other options. That address accepts PayPal.
