"Ultra-left" is a term that only people with David Aaronovitch's, in the technical sense of the word, Stalinist background would ever use.
His memoir of his upbringing is excellent. But he remains entirely captive to it.
And like a lot of us, Yasmine Dar was a Burnham supporter, with a second preference for Corbyn, until the infamous abstention. Even in Stalinist terms, what is "ultra-left" about that?
It is far more significant that someone like that has topped the poll for the National Executive Committee of the Labour Party, whereas Pete Willsman has only just scraped on.
