This supposedly patriotic Government has its shortlist of five for the next Metropolitan Police Commissioner, which remains a central government appointment.
Three Americans, one Canadian and one Australian.
It is going to be one of the three Americans. Well, of course it is.
Still, at least it is not going to be a Saudi. This time.
Then again, where this kind of thing was concerned, what would be the difference?
