I trust that this blog's readers are beyond any historical or constitutional illiteracy about how the monarchy and the Royal Family are supposed to be "politically neutral". Like the inability to distinguish between the monarchy and the Royal Family, we may leave that to the BBC, and to the foam-flecked neocons who have worked out what our next King really thinks.
Someone has to say that the MoD should buy British, and I don't hear any political party saying it. Still, now that we are so closely allied to the French, we might pick up some of their better habits. For the French Army, the French Navy or the French Air Force to but foreign is literally unthinkable. Neither the EU, nor mere budgetary considerations, would occur to anyone for one moment. Nor should they.
