War Guilt

When Donald Trump signed on the dotted line, then he did so at Versailles. Well, of course. Arguably, the Americans have not won a war since 1945. But undeniably, they have started a lot. Yet they have never paid reparations. Until now. To, of all countries, Iran. Indeed, the whole memorandum of understanding reads like an instrument of surrender, because that is what it is. The Republicans control both Houses of Congress, so a Democrat who did this would be impeached.

And what of Keir Starmer? The Iranians themselves did not believe for one moment his transparently false claim that Britain was anything less than a full participant in the war on Iran, such that an Iranian proxy bombed the British sovereign base on Cyprus, albeit intentionally causing minimal damage to property and none to persons while nevertheless making the point in no uncertain terms.

This time tomorrow, either a Labour or a Reform UK victory at Makerfield will have initiated the process of Starmer's removal to a preferably remote commune with Jenny Chapman, at least one more babymomma, Waheed Ali, a number of Ukrainian rent boys, and whoever else. Wherever Peter Mandelson is, let them clear off to there.

At Makerfield, the Conservatives will be the third party of the Right, but no one would have cared anymore even if they had not picked up Aberdeen South, as they very well may. All in all, Kemi Badenoch has nothing to worry about. Not so Nigel Farage. It was bad that Reform failed to win Gorton and Denton, it would be worse if it failed to win Makerfield, and it would be disastrous if the Restore Britain vote were larger than the Labour margin of victory. Thanks to Farage, one quarter of Reform's total number of MPs was Ministerially responsible for granting Hadi Alodid's indefinite leave to remain.
