Not Lost In Space

I am an enthusiastic supporter of the space exploration that came up at today's Prime Minister's Questions. I would balance the British spaceport in the North of Scotland with another in the South Atlantic. St Helena is nicer than Ascension Island, which is a fairly desolate place. But Ascension is closer to the Equator. And the situation there could do with some coverage. The community there has been roundly abused.

All in all, then, while I am strongly critical of the present Indian Government, I am very happy for India on becoming a space superpower. But we do need the specification in the Statute Law that the United Kingdom's aid to any given country be reduced by the exact cost of any space programme, or of any nuclear weapons programme, or of any nuclear submarine programme, or of any foreign aid budget of that country's own, but with the money thus saved remaining within the budget of the Department for International Development, and with the 0.7 per cent target still resolutely intact.

Another hung Parliament is coming, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post. I will stand for this seat, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
