No matter how safe a parliamentary seat is in Britain, no one is ever elected unopposed. Even in local government, that is far rarer than it used to be.
But whereas Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will be too young to be a Vice-Presidential nominee in 2020, Rashida Tlaib, who is about to be elected unopposed to the House of Representatives, will not be.
Bernie Sanders is still wrong about some very big things. But he looks like coming through the middle between a Clinton courtier and someone well to his left.
