All Right For Some

Here. Here. Rather amusingly, hereHere. And here.

But see also here. And here.

If you do not pay tax on your vast income and wealth, then you are unlikely ever to feel the pinch.

Britain is mostly a land of SMEs where the private sector is concerned. Big businesses depend on them, and both depend on the public sector.

But one category finds it far easier than the other category does to avoid paying for that sector.

I would just ignore these 100. They are the kind of people, if they are not the actual individuals, whom Tony Blair used to hold in awe. That speaks for itself.

More broadly, though, this General Election is about the economy. After all, what else is there that differentiates the parties much, if at all?

Far from being odd, this Election is a very traditional fight between a Conservative Party backed by big business, and a Labour Party seeking to give legislative effect to trade union proposals.

The electorate is about to pass judgement on the Conservatives' economic management, specifically as such. The absence of a consistent lead on the part of that party, and the absence of any such lead at least half the time, says all that needs to be said.

  1. Very well-said. SMEs are 99.9% of private sector activity, providing 60% of private sector jobs. 96% of private sector activity is by micro-companies employing fewer than nine people. SMEs and their owners suffer from austerity like everyone else and do not have the money to donate to political parties.

Tory donors, Tory advisers, mates of Tory leaders and people who take the Tory Whip in Parliament want the Tories to win? Never! You could have knocked me down with a feather.
