Demolition, Jobs

Demolishing Grenfell Tower, and informing the survivors and the bereaved only after the decision? It was probably always going to have to come down eventually. But now, and like this? Why?

The 400 redundancies at Grangemouth suggest that the Government has no intention of fighting for Rosebank and Jackdaw, since where would the harvests of those fields be refined? But no one settles scores like the right wing of the Labour Party. If you know, you know.

And the cancellation of local elections in much of the South, disenfranchising as many people as the entire population of Scotland, is designed to give the Conservative Party a year in which to regroup without the losses that it would otherwise have endured to Reform UK, to the Liberal Democrats and to the Greens, although no longer to Labour these days, giving that party a stake in this manoeuvre, which will spare it any more embarrassment than it was already facing.

    1. Normally, although they would make a lot of noise, the number of people who would do that would be negligible. But this time, I am not so sure.
