The 11-19 age group is by far the most infected. 40 per cent of all new cases of Covid-19 are attributable to the schools that Keir Starmer demanded reopen, and which Boris Johnson did reopen.
No one wants to close the schools. Of course not. But any "circuit break" that did not return them to the provision that was made during the lockdown would be a waste of time.
The most obvious time to take such a break would therefore be around the forthcoming half-term holiday: next week, the half-term week after that, and the week after that again.
