Tonight's Vice-Presidential debate will be worth watching, because no one expects a President Biden to survive four years, or to do much even while he was still breathing.
Democratic primary voters did not so much reject Kamala Harris as ignore her, and she is a first term United States Senator who had previously only ever been the District Attorney of San Francisco and the Attorney General of California.
Yet despite those facts, or because of them, Harris has been selected as the next President of the United States for all practical purposes, and as the legal occupant of that office from well before the next election to it.
