Public Interest Defence?

Anything from Carole Cadwalladr or The Observer on Julian Assange? No, of course not.

As of today, it is the law of the land that Brexit supporters, all 17 million of us, are such awful people that we cannot be defamed. You can say absolutely anything you like about us or any of us, but while it may be false, it cannot be defamatory.

Please note, though, that that was the ruling. Cadwalladr has been found to have been a liar, and the judge also dismissed her suggestion that Arron Banks had launched a strategic lawsuit against public participation. Yet awarded no damages. 2016 or even 2019 now seems like a very long time ago.

  1. Arron Banks should appeal, it turns out the judge was as biased as hell.

    1. He might be better advised not to make that point in front of other judges, but he should indeed appeal.
