The courts of Boris Johnson and Nicola Sturgeon are states within the State. Investigated by means of a questionnaire, and then served with a far lower fine than anyone else would have been given? Paid a cosy little visit to be let off completely? The latter has been made possible by the lack of any effective Opposition at Holyrood. Clearly, there is also such a lack at Westminster.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister's office has been targeted repeatedly with Israeli Pegasus spyware, on behalf of India, Cyprus, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, all of which are supposed to be close British allies. Welcome to how they and the Israelis truly see us, at least under Johnson. And there will have been people who were to paid to watch out for this kind of thing. Once again, then, who and what is really the State here?
You see the world clearly so the rest of us don't have to.
