Following the failed coup in Pakistan, the Governor of Punjab has been dismissed for "misconduct and corruption".
He is Mohammed Sarwar, MP for Glasgow Central from 1997 to 2010. Gordon Brown tried to put him in the House of Lords, but the nomination was blocked by the taxman.
Sarwar handed over his Commons seat to his son, who is now the Leader of the Labour Party in Scotland. The family business does not recognise trade unions.
I wish I could find this surprising.
