Blue Skies Thinking

Of course George Galloway will be voting for his Conservative constituency MSP, and for the All for Unity list with himself on it, in order to defeat Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP. He has long advocated a vote for the best placed anti-SNP candidate and for that list.

But oh, the shrieking. "The Tories! The Tories! The Tories!" Well, I hate to have to tell you this, but that one lost its power to frighten a long time ago, during a three-term Labour Government that was more right-wing than the Tories.

The miners, you say? If the Labour Party had not betrayed them, then the miners would have won. And in the present day rather than in the fairly distant past, Labour is about to vote against a Conservative Government's very modest increase in corporation tax.

But keep running along the Red Wall screeching, "The Tories! The Tories! The Tories!" And wondering why today you were on 36 points to their 43, enough to devastate your municipal base on 6th May.

That brings me to the greatest regret of my quarter-century, now concluded, in electoral politics. In 2016, I should have thought to ask George to contest Chester-le-Street West Central at the elections to Durham County Council in 2017. That could have been arranged, and of course he would have won, depriving the Leader of his seat.

Look what they did to me for it, and what they are still doing, but in 2017 I advocated voting for the best placed candidate to defeat Labour in each ward of Durham County Council. Had people done that, then the Teaching Assistants would have won.

The Independents and the Liberal Democrats had voted for the Teaching Assistants, while the Conservatives had abstained. The monumental wrong against them had been perpetrated solely by the Labour Party. But "The Tories! The Tories! The Tories!" And people wonder why I am never going to contest another election to anything.

Weed It Out

The Holden-Nut Nuts Challenge: Day 90

Richard Holden, Princess Nut Nuts testified against you at the trial at which you were acquitted, and since your election she has repeatedly blocked your promotion.

So why do you want the country to be run by her? This question will appear here every day until you have answered it.

Oliver Kamm Candidacy Watch: Day 95

Oliver Kamm, you consider that Richard Holden and Laura Pidcock are both unfit to be Members of Parliament.

In that case, then you need to announce your own parliamentary candidacy here at North West Durham.

Put up or shut up. This post will appear daily until you do.

The Pidcock-Starmer Challenge: Day 104

Election to the National Executive Committee at Stage One is the stuff of Labour royalty, and 824 of Laura Pidcock's voters expressed no other preference.

Add quite that level of popularity within the party to the fact that she still lives here in North West Durham, and to the fact that she lost this seat by only 1,144 votes.

All in all, she is already the Labour candidate for North West Durham at the General Election of 2024. There is a certain amount of paperwork to be done, but it is nothing more than that.

Any Labour candidate at that Election will either believe that Keir Starmer ought to become Prime Minister, or will at least be pretending to believe that.

Laura is not the pretending type, so the question is this: Laura Pidcock, why do you want Keir Starmer to become Prime Minister?

Not, "Why do you want a Labour Government?" Why do you want Keir Starmer to become Prime Minister?

This question will appear here every day until you have answered it.

Suicide Watch: Day 127

The two of you who are planning to drag me back to court, the Crown has been granted an adjournment because you have no case. And I am still here. What you really want is for me to commit suicide, which strongly suggests that you have been successful in that regard in the past. One of you has already spent nearly 20 years trying to bring about my death by my own hand. Every time that either of you sends the Police round, or what have you, then that is the intention.

But that will never be the effect. You have met your match in me, and you need to remember that while I am not permitted to name you here, you would be named in court if you pursued me there. You would be named in court as having tried to drive a man to suicide. Would that be good for business? Would that be good for political advancement? Would the Church see that as good for the Church? Think on.

This post will appear daily while you continued your doomed campaign to force me to take my own life. Each of you has clearly succeeded in forcing other people to take their own lives. But I say again, to each and both of you, that you have met your match in me. As one of you ought to have worked out a long time ago.

CPS Watch: Day 127

Keir Starmer's Crown Prosecution Service does not deny that it is an enforcement agency of the right-wing Labour machine, and that its behaviour towards me at every point has proved that conclusively, as that behaviour continues to do.

The CPS does not deny that it corrupted the jury at my trial, and that it would do the same to any jury, or to any bench of magistrates, that might try me in future. If I were ever to be convicted of anything again, then that point would be proved.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Max Hill, does not dispute that he knows me to be innocent of the offences with which he has charged me.

His predecessor, Alison Saunders, does not dispute that she has always known me to have been innocent of the offences with which she charged me and arranged to have me convicted.

Saunders, Hill and the CPS do not dispute that they have persecuted me, and that they continue to do so, purely in order to advance their professional, political and social lives on and around the right wing of the Labour Party.

And Saunders, Hill and the CPS do not dispute that, since I am nothing special, they are certainly doing this to dozens of other people at any given time.

This post will appear daily until there is any change in the above circumstances. I am a declared and active candidate for the parliamentary seat of North West Durham at the next General Election.

My imprisonment prior to the next General Election would make me the First Past the Post, just as my conviction prior to the last one would have saved my deposit. My enemies need to think on.

Clergy Watch: Day 136

On 4th November, at Peterlee Magistrates' Court, you could not after all come along and witness the latest instalment in the lawfare against me by the right-wing Labour machine, including under it Sunday name. That same Court had granted the Crown an adjournment because it had had no case.

Nevertheless, are you a bishop, priest or deacon of the Roman Obedience who is ministering in any of the Red Wall areas: the three Northern regions, the two Midland regions, and North Wales? (Why that matters will become evident from an emerging project.)

If so, then do you believe that I am guilty of the charges against me, meaning that my accusers are telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com to say so. No names will be used, but a running total will appear here every day.

The current total is zero. There is no bishop, priest or deacon of the Roman Obedience who is ministering in the North of England, the Midlands, or North Wales, and who believes my accusers to be anything other than liars.

Meanwhile, the Patrons of my parliamentary campaign at North West Durham included, as private citizens, the 12 archbishops and diocesan bishops of the Red Wall dioceses of Birmingham, Hallam, Hexham and Newcastle, Lancaster, Leeds, Liverpool, Middlesbrough, Northampton, Nottingham, Salford, Shrewsbury, and Wrexham, together with the clergy of the Escomb and Pontop Partnerships, each of which fell partly in the North West Durham constituency. They are up for grabs now. Why vote for anyone who had not managed to pick them up?

Oliver Kamm Arrest Watch: Day 206

There is more evidence to arrest Oliver Kamm than there was to convict me, and he clams up over on Guido Fawkes when asked whether or not he has been arrested. So, has Oliver Kamm been arrested? If not, why not?

Kamm faked a death threat against himself, and he used a contact at Durham, who ought also to be arrested and who may in fact have been so, to try and pin it on me. That incident is so similar to the one of which I was convicted as to call into question my conviction. A daily update will appear here until further notice.

Oliver Kamm Libel Watch: Day 237

Oliver Kamm, you are a liar, and as such you are unfit to hold your position on The Times.

Sue me.

Your bizarre CapX article, as well as numerous other statements of yours since then, have had nothing to do with the substance of my previous court case, in relation to which I maintain my innocence. So they have not already been tested in court. And they are lies.

You made up the "anti-Semitic death threat" against yourself, in a language that I could not read, and even though you are not Jewish. I was present when the Police literally laughed it out.

Like me, the Police know how you did it; they know who in Durham you used, and so do I. Eventually, you will either do time for this, or it will see you sent to a psychiatric institution, possibly both.

You are a stalker with an acknowledged history of mental illness, and I can see less and less reason why I ought not to move to have you committed. Or sent to prison. By the criteria that were used to convict me, then that would be an open and shut case.

Next time that you try and frame someone, then do not use a language, and even a script, that your target cannot read. The Police tend to laugh out that kind of thing.

Oliver Kamm, you are a liar, and as such you are unfit to hold your position on The Times. Sue me. This post will appear here daily until you do.

Nor A Borrower Be

This "debt" is in fact bonds issued by the Treasury, which is the State, to the Bank of England, which is the State. A sovereign state with its own free floating, fiat currency cannot be in debt.

The purpose of taxation, like that of monetary policy, is to control inflation to the politically preferred extent while encouraging certain politically chosen forms of behaviour and discouraging others. Tax is not where the Government's money comes from. It is the issuing of currency itself that is an act of the State.

And if Labour is becoming "moderate", "sensible", "responsible" and "electable" by opposing any increase in corporation tax, then are the Conservatives extreme, senseless, irresponsible and unelectable for proposing such an increase? If not, why not?

Red Eyes

Today is the anniversary of the foundation of the Labour Party in 1900, within the lifetimes of people who were alive 15 years ago. The Labour Party was founded in London, and it was founded by people like Keir Starmer. They have always run it, and they have always run it from there. They have always been its most reliable electoral bloc, whereas at least 45 per cent of the working class has always voted Conservative.

During Labour's extremely rare periods in government, they have used it to run the country, and to try and run the world; the rest of the time, they have pursued those ends by other means. Labour may have gone home to die, but it has not forgotten its roots. These are its roots. Its remnant organisation in Scotland removed its Leader on the orders of a tiny clique of individual donors, and on those same orders it has today replaced him with a scion of a dynasty that does not pay the living wage or recognise trade unions, and the head of which is currently the supreme ruler of 110 million people in the Pakistani Punjab.

Therefore, it is no surprise that Labour has lately reiterated its absolute commitment to a mere international body and to a mere weapons system. Even a political class as insular and unresponsive as Britain's knows the truth about NATO. We have to station troops in the Baltic States as a tripwire. Russia could not then invade those States without attacking or at least endangering "Our Boys", despite having had no direct intention of doing so. It would then be politically impossible for Britain to stay out of the retaliation, whereas it would otherwise have been politically impossible for Britain to have participated in it.

The Holden-Nut Nuts Challenge: Day 89

Richard Holden, Princess Nut Nuts testified against you at the trial at which you were acquitted, and since your election she has repeatedly blocked your promotion.

So why do you want the country to be run by her? This question will appear here every day until you have answered it.

Damask Fibre?

Last night, the Americans did not bomb Shamima Begum's side in Syria. They bombed the side that she had gone there to fight.

She went there to join the side that we were backing there, but bombing in Iraq. All three British parties are now back under the control of such ignorant maniacs.

As for Begum, she could do a lot less harm to us from a prison cell after a trial in Britain than she might be drawn into doing either in Syria or in Bangladesh.

The Holden-Nut Nuts Challenge: Day 88

Throwing Sand In Our Eyes

Everyone has always known that it was Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who ordered the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

The "declassification" of a report making this statement of the obvious is Joe Biden's dead cat to distract attention from last night's illegal bombing of Syria.

Believe that Biden is serious when America sanctions Saudi Arabia in general and Prince Mohammed in particular. When Britain does that, then believe that the Moon is made of green cheese.

Significant National Security Risks

This is not about the details of Shamima Begum's case. The Supreme Court has ruled that the Home Secretary may revoke the British citizenship of anyone who was eligible for another nationality, whether or not they held it or wanted it.

Almost the entire population of Northern Ireland. Everyone with a great-grandparent born on the island of Ireland. Most of the 50 per cent of children with an Afro-Caribbean parent who also had a white parent. Everyone who was Jewish under the Nuremberg Laws, and therefore under the Israeli Law of Return. And many more besides.

Search Party

Alex Salmond, under oath, has just made the devastating allegation that the people who run Scotland had refused to hand over documents that had been specified in a search warrant.

Arrest them this afternoon. Now. Arrest them.

Pointing To Oblivion

Labour is again seven points behind, on a pitiful 33 per cent to the Conservatives' all-conquering 40. Here in the North East, the figures are 29 and 43.

Across the marginal seat plantations of Wales, the North and the Midlands, the results are comparable to ours. Expect Labour MPs who were barely 60, if that, to "retire" at the next General Election.

There was plenty wrong with Jeremy Corbyn. But he was never behind Don't Know in polls of potential Prime Ministers. Nor did he ever take Labour to 14 points behind the Conservatives in the North East.

In a few weeks' time, hundreds of Labour Party stalwarts are going to lose their council seats. They had held or won those seats under Corbyn. But they are going to lose them under Starmer.

So Plucking The Goose

Anything is better than Question Time these days, and there has just been a reference on Newsnight to Jean-Baptiste Colbert.

Many years ago, I referred on here to how "the ultraconservative Colbert" had been a progenitor of the concept of the planned economy.

Quick as a flash, there dived in below the line the man who is trying to drag me back to court, and who proceeded to bang on about something called The Colbert Report, which I then had to look up.

He truly believed that that had been what I had meant. If it had not been for the all-women shortlist, then would he have been our MP?

Well, he might have been the Labour candidate, although it is telling that he did not have enough clout to ensure that. But he would have lost the seat as long ago as 2010. True to form, in fact.

The Colbert Report. I am still laughing at that after all these years. If he turned up to court, then I would laugh at it in his face.

At that, and at a great many other things. Including the simple fact that he had turned up.

The Holden-Nut Nuts Challenge: Day 87

Richard Holden, Princess Nut Nuts testified against you at the trial at which you were acquitted, and since your election she has repeatedly blocked your promotion.

So why do you want the country to be run by her? This question will appear here every day until you have answered it.

Oliver Kamm Candidacy Watch: Day 92

Oliver Kamm, you consider that Richard Holden and Laura Pidcock are both unfit to be Members of Parliament.

In that case, then you need to announce your own parliamentary candidacy here at North West Durham.

Put up or shut up. This post will appear daily until you do.

The Pidcock-Starmer Challenge: Day 101

Suicide Watch: Day 124

But I say again, to each and both of you, that you have met your match in me. As one of you ought to have worked out a long time ago.

CPS Watch: Day 124

Clergy Watch: Day 133

Oliver Kamm Arrest Watch: Day 203

There is more evidence to arrest Oliver Kamm than there was to convict me, and he clams up over on Guido Fawkes when asked whether or not he has been arrested. So, has Oliver Kamm been arrested? If not, why not?

Kamm faked a death threat against himself, and he used a contact at Durham, who ought also to be arrested and who may in fact have been so, to try and pin it on me. That incident is so similar to the one of which I was convicted as to call into question my conviction. A daily update will appear here until further notice.

Oliver Kamm Libel Watch: Day 234

Crowning Glory?

Nicola Sturgeon's dwindling band of defenders is exercised to uphold "politically independent prosecuting authorities".

What a novel concept. Do please let me know of anywhere that has such agencies. They are completely unknown on this Island.

The Unexamined Life

GCSE and A-level grades are to be allocated by the teachers, an arrangement that will probably now last forever.

Who would be working-class, or politically black, or male? But this is why the development of our own institutions is so important.

Our people would still go to school, of course. But that would no longer hold them back.

Thinking Outside The Box

Rough sleeping has been reduced by a third in a year, or so we are told.

There have always been the means to end it. What has been lacking has been the political will.

Taxing Times

Windfall taxes have been levied at least three times in the last 40 years, once by Tony Blair and twice by Margaret Thatcher. If Labour voted against one this year, then it would be positioning itself to the right of both of those First Lords of the Treasury.

And reversing David Cameron's and George Osborne's cut in corporation tax, which was a key weapon in their imposition of the cost of the 2008 Crash on the rest of us rather than on their current employers, was one of Keir Starmer's 10 Pledges. Indeed, it was the first of those Pledges.

The Left should vote in favour of the windfall tax, and it should at least vote in both lobbies on corporation tax. There would then be a case for adopting the latter approach to the Finance Bill itself. This is asking a lot. Back when Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell were voting against the Blair Government, then they were rarely or never "voting with the Tories", who were of course voting with that Government, if at all. But here we are.

Here we are, indeed. But where are the Liberal Democrats? The cut in corporation tax was a measure of the Coalition, when Ed Davey was in the Cabinet, and when members of his party held the positions of Secretary of State for Business and of Chief Secretary to the Treasury. That party is back at third place in the polls this week. A touch of scrutiny would be in order.

A Banana Republic, Without The Bananas

If you read one article today, then make it this, by Andrew Neil.

Moreover, there should be no anonymity for adult accusers any more than for the adult accused, and they certainly ought not to be able to hide behind it for life in order to defame someone who had been acquitted but who risked "jigsaw identification" by answering back.

A Bee Without A Bonnet

Kammiknickers in a twist over the fact that David Miller is a Professor and has a PhD.

Kammiknickers, you see, would not have awarded a doctorate for that thesis, or created a Chair for its author's subsequent work. So that settles the matter, apparently.

Kammiknickers once failed a PhD. I am convinced of it. Any information will be received with glee by davidaslindsay@hotmail.com.

In The Diplomatic Bag

The astonishing events in Scotland have been brought to the floor of the House of Commons by Liam Fox.

The Labour Party ought to be exactly as proud of that as it is of its failure to call for the resignation of Thieving Matt Hancock.

Each of these is the kind of thing that rightly elicits a robust response from the British diplomatic presence in any other country.

Every Embassy and High Commission in London, and every Consulate and Consulate-General in Scotland, should say exactly what their British counterparts would say under comparable circumstances.

Needling The Thread

Notice who is complaining about Britain’s Fascist Thread, the Radio Four series that dares to discuss the 100 years and counting of Fascism in this country.

The same people cared not one jot about freedom of speech when they themselves were doing the cancelling, as they often still are, so their hero of the moment is Toby Young, who is a eugenicist of international importance, who is also a self-confessed sexual assailant and supplier of Class A drugs, and whose involvement in eugenics has made him an associate of Emil Kirkegaard, himself an advocate of the rape of drugged children.

Like Kirkegaard, Young is a stalwart of the world of the London Conference on Intelligence, the Ulster Institute for Social Research, and Mankind Quarterly. Yet he was given a loud voice in education policy for many years, a major formal role in education was about to have been given to him, and he has now been brought back into the public life from which he was barely ever suspended.

The London Conference on Intelligence is held at the world class University College London. One of our most prestigious seats of higher learning has been hosting the propagation of eugenics, attended by the man whom the Government had wanted to put in charge of the entire sector, an influence to which he clearly still aspires.

As I have been trying to tell people for years, the single biggest internal security threat comes from the Far Right. A Far Right that is enormous, longstanding, very highly organised, armed to the teeth, and possessed of the closest possible ties both to the DUP and to Conservative Party.

Sammy Wilson, who was then the DUP’s Press Officer and who is now one of its MPs, chaired the founding rally of Ulster Resistance, which has never disbanded or disarmed in any way. Ian Paisley (the Elder, so to speak), Peter Robinson and Ivan Foster all spoke at that rally.

Emma Little-Pengelly, who was the DUP MP for Belfast South from 2017 to 2019, is the daughter of Noel Little of the Paris Three, procurers of arms from apartheid South Africa. She owed her election, for a somewhat improbable seat, to the concerted efforts of the local Loyalist paramilitary organisations, to whom she extended barely coded thanks in her acceptance speech.

It is highly unusual for a married woman from her background to continue to use her maiden name, even in hyphenated form. But Noel Little’s daughter does so. Throughout her time in Parliament, the Government had an overall majority of one. Throughout that time, she was that majority.

No Irish Republican organisation has murdered a Member of Parliament in the present century or in the preceding decade, and the people responsible are now such pillars of the British Establishment that they are entertained at Windsor Castle. No Islamist or Leftist organisation has ever murdered a Member of Parliament. But the Far Right has done so, only in 2016.

Thomas Mair, the murderer of Jo Cox, described himself to the Police as “a political activist”, and so he was. National Fronts come and BNPs go, EDLs come and Britain Firsts go, but certain institutional and organisational manifestations of the Far Right are perennial and even permanent. Mair’s is the Springbok Club, which is run by the people who also run the London Swinton Circle. And that, in turn, was addressed by Liam Fox (born 1961) and by Owen Paterson (born 1956) as recently as 2014. Ah, those old 1980s Tory Boys, in their Hang Mandela T-shirts and all the rest of it. Wherever did they all end up?

In the Thatcher and, to a lesser extent, Major years, there were Ministers who were members of the Western Goals Institute or the Monday Club, which latter had played a key role in securing British accession to the EU. Those crossed over, via such things as the fiercely Eurofederalist League of Saint George, to overt neo-Nazism on the Continent, to the Ku Klux Klan, to apartheid South Africa, to Ian Smith’s Rhodesia, to the juntas of Latin America, to Marcos and Suharto, to the Duvaliers, and so on.

Nick Griffin’s father, Edgar, was a Vice-President of Iain Duncan Smith’s Leadership Campaign. He answered what was listed as one of its official telephone numbers, in his house, with the words “British National Party”. And now, we have Toby Young and the London Conference on Intelligence. I tried to tell you.

Charles Kennedy: A Good Man Speaking

We all enjoy a good moan about the BBC, but this is why we have it.

Evanescent?

Boris Johnson's riposte to Keir Starmer was unanswerable. If the Government put up taxes, then it would only be implementing the last Labour manifesto. But it is Johnson's own supporters who need to give that a moment to sink in.

Like Tony Blair before him, Starmer has to define himself against the places that had voted solidly Labour before he had become the Messianic Leader. But Blair had plenty of those from which to choose.

After the last General Election, Starmer has only London, which he not only represents as an MP but genuinely loves, whereas no one ever accused Blair of loving the Durham coalfield.

And Liverpool. So the target has to be Liverpool. Expect that target to be hit over, and over, and over again. The thing about Scousers, though, is that they hit back.

Conscience Claws

It has come to something when one has to say anything nice about Amnesty International. But it has at least revoked its Prisoner of Conscience status from Alexei "Cockroaches" Navalny. He had no more claim to it than "Tommy Robinson" had had. Neoliberal and neoconservative opinion of Navalny is clearly shifting towards reality.

Leading us to the ongoing events in Georgia, where, in marked contrast to Navalny's pretensions in Russia, the nearest thing to a Leader of the Opposition really is the former President, Mikheil Saakashvili.

Saakashvili, however, lives in Ukraine, of which he is also now a citizen, and where he leads an extremely minor opposition party but has served as Governor of Odessa in the past. Wayne Madsen sets out how very common that kind of thing is on the Right. National sovereignty and controlled immigration are not for The Project's insiders.

Aimed At The Erasure

Jeffrey Abood writes:

The Basilica of All Nations, next to the Garden of Gethsemane, on the Mount of Olives in East Jerusalem, marks the spot where Christians believe Jesus prayed the night before his arrest. The church itself houses the rock on which Jesus prayed and sweated blood. Still alive in the orchard outside are some of the same olive trees, which can live for centuries, that may have borne witness to that night.

On Dec. 4, a 49-year-old Jewish Israeli settler from Gilo attempted to burn down the basilica. The arsonist was stopped from doing further damage by a church guard and two young Muslim Palestinians at work near the church. Greek Patriarch Theophilos III described the attack as “a crime inspired by an extreme ideology that seeks to drive Christians from the Holy Land. This attack at a site of great significance to Christians worldwide reveals the threat that radical groups pose.”

This latest arson is unfortunately not an isolated incident. Prior to this, churches and Christians in the Holy Land have been subject to many other trials, including the confiscation of church lands, destruction of church properties, denial of religious freedom, and discriminatory actions against Christians and their schools. Many of these have been documented in the recent book, Is Peace Possible? Christian Palestinians Speak.

In 2018, the situation for the Christian community and churches had become so bad that the Heads of Churches in the Holy Land took the near unprecedented step of closing the Church of the Holy Sepulcher to the world. They did this to protest a “systematic campaign against the churches and the Christian community in the Holy Land.”

The heads of churches have spoken out about their treatment on numerous occasions, including after the arson at the Latrun Monastery, the ongoing desecrations of convents and cemeteries, and the 2015 burning of the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish. The increasing attacks on Palestinian Christians and their properties have become part of the settler movement’s “price-tag policy” to punish any rumored compromise in peace negotiations and drive Palestinians off their land.

In 2014, Latin Patriarch Fouad Twal stated, “All of you are well aware of the recent acts of vandalism against Christians, Muslims and Druze. There has been a marked increase of ‘price-tag’ provocations within Israel.” Recent “price-tag” attacks also include the vandalization with anti-Christian graffiti of the Benedictine Dormition Abbey in Jerusalem on five different occasions. In 2014, an assailant also tried to burn the Abbey down.

New acts of racist vandalism were also recently committed in the Christian Palestinian village of Taybeh, where Hebrew graffiti was sprayed on a wall and a car was torched. Vandals shattered stained-glass windows and destroyed a statue of Mary in St. Stephen Church in the Beit Jamal Salesian Monastery in 2017. Christian cemeteries are consistently vandalized. In 2019, Armenian Apostolic Orthodox seminarians in Jerusalem’s Old City were targeted by Jewish extremists who spat on them, saying “Death to the Christians” and “We will wipe you out of this country.” This is also a common phenomenon clergy must endure.

The attack on the Basilica of All Nations, along with other “price-tag” attacks, have been routinely condemned by the hierarchy of the various Churches in Jerusalem on multiple occasions. According to the Catholic News Agency, “The Assembly of Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land’s requests to discuss the attacks with the Israeli authorities, including the prime minister, have been repeatedly denied.”

More than 25 years ago, the Vatican and the State of Israel signed the Fundamental Agreement, which would have established the rights, legal status, and secured the properties of the Catholic Church in Israel. To this day, while signed, the Knesset has never enacted it, leaving the official status of the Church in Israel in a continuous limbo.

With the future of the Church in limbo, one can imagine how much more precarious is the future of the faithful who live there. While this time, a larger tragedy was narrowly averted at the Basilica of All Nations, arson attacks are only one symptom of a much larger “systematic campaign” aimed at the erasure of the indigenous Christians from the Holy Land.

The Campaign Patrons of my Independent candidacy for the parliamentary seat of North West Durham includes the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, the Franciscan Custos of the Holy Land, the Coptic Orthodox Archbishop of Jerusalem, the Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Jerusalem, the Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarchal Vicar in Jerusalem, the Ethiopian Orthodox Archbishop of Jerusalem, the Maronite Patriarchal Exarch of Jerusalem and Palestine, the Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem, the Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land, the Syrian Catholic Patriarchal Exarch of Jerusalem, and the Armenian Catholic Patriarchal Exarch of Jerusalem and Amman. They are up for grabs now. Why vote for anyone who had not managed to pick them up?

The Holden-Nut Nuts Challenge: Day 86

Richard Holden, Princess Nut Nuts testified against you at the trial at which you were acquitted, and since your election she has repeatedly blocked your promotion.

So why do you want the country to be run by her? This question will appear here every day until you have answered it.

Oliver Kamm Candidacy Watch: Day 91

Oliver Kamm, you consider that Richard Holden and Laura Pidcock are both unfit to be Members of Parliament.

In that case, then you need to announce your own parliamentary candidacy here at North West Durham.

Put up or shut up. This post will appear daily until you do.

The Pidcock-Starmer Challenge: Day 100

Suicide Watch: Day 123

CPS Watch: Day 123

Now He Walks Alone

Keir Starmer is so utterly inexperienced a politician that he has picked a fight with Liverpool.

The Holden-Nut Nuts Challenge: Day 85

Richard Holden, Princess Nut Nuts testified against you at the trial at which you were acquitted, and since your election she has repeatedly blocked your promotion.

So why do you want the country to be run by her? This question will appear here every day until you have answered it.

Oliver Kamm Candidacy Watch: Day 90

Oliver Kamm, you consider that Richard Holden and Laura Pidcock are both unfit to be Members of Parliament.

In that case, then you need to announce your own parliamentary candidacy here at North West Durham.

Put up or shut up. This post will appear daily until you do.

The Pidcock-Starmer Challenge: Day 99

Election to the National Executive Committee at Stage One is the stuff of Labour royalty, and 824 of Laura Pidcock's voters expressed no other preference.
