Richard Hughes was right to resign for the leak, as Rachel Reeves should resign for the deceit, so very much in keeping with her dodgy CV, with her published plagiarism, and with everything else about her.
The position of Chancellor of the Exchequer could then be given to a person who was intellectually and morally capable of doing the job in full, following the abolition of the Office of Budget Responsibility, and the restoration of democratic political control over monetary policy.
To that end, Hughes should not be replaced as Chairman of the OBR. Although it ought not to be beyond the wit to find a way of making him the new Chancellor. After all, who else is there?
Reeves should have gone over her dodgy housing.
