It turns out that Matt Hancock is being advised by Tony Blair, which explains an awful lot. There are five living former Prime Ministers of this country, yet only one of them stalks it.
But complaining about Blair can be like complaining about the weather. He is going to happen, anyway. Rather, although he has now been out of office longer than he was ever in it, he is far younger than both the outgoing and the incoming Presidents of the United States.
Blair's former constituency of Sedgefield is now in search of a Labour candidate. He should tweet his candidacy and, under the present Leader, that would be that. Or he should go away.
