And so the "contaminated roof" of Sergei Skripal's house has been "removed and replaced". Apparently by men in everyday overalls. But in any case, how did a gel smeared on the door handle ever reach the roof of that two-storey building?
Jeremy Corbyn's fault in this business was not that he failed to believe all of this drivel from the start. It is that he has wound up believing even so much as one word of it at all. Or at least pretending to believe it. If anything, that is even worse.
Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post.
