Amber Warning

Amber Rudd is one of Theresa May's closest allies, and has earned only the mildest of rebukes, if it could even have been called that, for having told Robert Peston that there was going to be a second referendum, meaning of course a referendum between May's deal and Remain.

On the same programme, even Nadine Dorries declined to say that the United Kingdom would leave the European Union on 29th March, while Justine Greening, who is really still close to May or at least to her thinking, gave the one word answer, "No."

It has taken 28 years for the pro-EU Right to kill off the far newer anti-EU Right. But last week, it finally did so. If you want people who will stand up to the EU, whether inside it or outside it, then you need to look instead to those of us who have always been opposed to it, and whose views are those of the areas that swung the referendum.

Another hung Parliament is coming, and our people need to hold the balance of power in it. I will stand for this parliamentary seat of North West Durham, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
