Political prisoner, activist, journalist, hymn-writer, emerging thinktanker, aspiring novelist, "tribal elder", 2019 parliamentary candidate for North West Durham, Shadow Leader of the Opposition, "Speedboat", "The Cockroach", eagerly awaiting the second (or possibly third) attempt to murder me.
Except that they wouldn't. Well, of course they wouldn't.
But sadly, we are now run by a bad public school Sixth Form common room, the only place where anyone could come out with that line.
If this Election result proves anything, then it is that the English, or enough of them to amount to the same thing, would have nothing but Page 3 except under compulsion. A very English type of compulsion, but even so.
Give to charity voluntarily, indeed! But vote for David Cameron, George Osborne and Iain Duncan Smith? Pull the other one!
What is the state doing funding charities,since taxpayers money is not a voluntary donation?
