Only three of these seven ever went to university, and only
one of those went straight from school. So much for "no working-class MPs
these days". None invited onto television, yes. But they are there, all
right.
With
my two Durham degrees, the concern of figures such as these for this issue has
made me care about it far more than I usually do. I tend to be more concerned
about the other 50 per cent of each age cohort.
But if
this is not too bourgeois a concern for Frank Doran, Ronnie Campbell, Brian
Donohoe, John McDonnell, George Mudie (retiring, admittedly), Katy Clark, or the
2010 intake's Ian Lavery, then it is certainly not too bourgeois a concern for
me.
