Political prisoner, activist, journalist, hymn-writer, emerging thinktanker, aspiring novelist, "tribal elder", 2019 parliamentary candidate for North West Durham, Shadow Leader of the Opposition, "Speedboat", "The Cockroach", eagerly awaiting the second (or possibly third) attempt to murder me.
After the Great Andrew Mitchell Stitch- up nobody is going to trust the police to "investigate" anything with political implications, I'm afraid. Particularly anything to do with the Tories.
If the police have any sense of self- preservation, they'll keep their noses out of politics from now on, and get back to doing what we pay them for.
Nobody trusts them any more on anything political, after they were exposed as frauds who abused their position of authority to bring down a Government Minister.
They have only apologise after they were exposed as liars-and only one has been reprimanded.
What about the lawless spiteful leak of a police log to the press, the drafting of the fake emails, the conspiracy to lie about Mr Mitchell's meeting with them? What about the Poljce Federation's role in this disgrace?
No matter how much they apologise, they've already lost what little trust they had left.
Nobody would believe the outcome if any " investigation " now, unless Tory Ministers were allowed to follow them with tape recorders, as Mitchell had to.
They are still far more trusted than politicians, and rightly so, especially where the present Government is concerned.
Mitchell will have his comeuppance. And the public will love it when he does. It rather approved of whatever anyone had to do in order to bring down any member of the present Cabinet.

This is what we pay them for.
ReplyDeleteAnd they will be proved right over Andrew Mitchell, when one of them wins a libel action against him.
