Happy Saint David's Day
God Save The Queen.
Like Saint George's Day, Saint Andrew's Day and Saint Patrick's Day, today ought to be a public holiday throughout the United Kingdom.
From the ongoing reintegration of their Army into the one that set it up in order to kill Republicans, to the proliferation of wind farms (whatever else one might think of them) all over the Irish Midlands purely in order to supply Britain with electricity, to the large majorities in favour of reversion to sterling, to Brendan O'Carroll's cheerful and tearful acceptance (and he the son of a TD) of awards describing him and his programme as "British", to that programme's numerous crowing references to the fact that it is on the BBC, there is simply no need at all.
At this rate, they might even get the NHS. 70 or 80 years after everyone else in these Islands. But better late than never.
