On yesterday’s Daily Politics, Rehman Chishti positively bragged about his former work for Benazir Bhutto.
Chishti, who is now a Conservative rising star as MP for Gillingham and Rainham, was Francis Maude’s Labour opponent in 2005 while working for Bhutto, whom he assisted from 1991 until her assassination in 2007 in her leadership of a party the motto of which includes both “Islam is our Faith” and “Socialism is our Economy”.
He was still doing that job when he defected to the Conservative Party in 2006 and became an aide to Maude as its Chairman.
