1992 And All That
This week's New Statesman has an unmissable piece by Alwyn Turner, to tie in with an impending book, about how the 1992 General Election result alienated an entire generation from politics, caused it to storm the commanding heights of popular culture instead, and in so doing "ceded the field to a group of homogenised professional politicians who were allowed to emerge unchallenged".
