Every City Has A Soul
Of course Mitt Romney won Nevada. The number of LDS facilities of one sort or another in Las Vegas suggests that probably half the population is Mormon. Pretty much everyone there is employed one way or another by either or both of gambling and prostitution. And those are an awful lot of tithes heading across state lines to Salt Lake City.
The Mormon population of Utah is of the order of 10%, I believe, rather than 50%.
ReplyDeleteNo, it is about 60 per cent membership and about 40 per cent active membership. That does mean, though, that about one third of Utah Mormons is inactive.
ReplyDeleteI beg your pardon. I was responding to your observation on the demographics underlying the Nevada caucuses and meant to write that the Mormon population of Nevada (not Utah) is c. 10%.
