Dan Hodges is at it again today, not only bemoaning the nomination of Ken Livingstone, but suggesting, as if it were self-evident, that only a Blairite can win an election, either to the non-job of Mayor of London, or to anything else at all.
If he and the rest of that tiny clique with an outrageous amount of media access do not want Livingstone, then they can either join the Labour Party's London Regional Organiser and campaign openly for Boris Johnson, as they did last time in union with the BNP. Or they can do as Livingstone did the first time around, namely put up a candidate of their own.
Either way, though, they have to explain what they have against the man who invented so much of their political position. Take a look, not at the Bennite parliamentary agenda, nor at the Scargillite union agenda, but specifically at the agenda of "Loony Left" local government, the guiding light of which was Ken Livingstone. Almost all of it is now the policy of all three parties. Much of it has been enacted. Even cavorting with Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness is now something that everyone does, and which we are all supposed to be delighted that they all do.
