Recognition Failure
There is now no reason why any guerrilla uprising, and certainly not why any Islamist one, cannot expect to be recognised as the legitimate government of whichever country might happen to be under discussion. Is there?
I wrote here at the time that after Kosovo, those who supported that move would be powerless against any such declaration by, for example, Southern California, or the former Metropolitan County of West Yorkshire. I stand by that. But this is even worse.
