Since holding next year's Eurovision Song Contest there provided an opportunity to highlight the plight of Nagorno-Karabakh, that beleaguered outpost of the first entire people ever to adopt the Biblical-Classical synthesis that is Western civilisation: "The Faith is Europe, and Europe is the Faith."
Since when was Israel in Europe? Whereas of course Russia, about which this question is also sometimes asked, is very much a European country, pre-eminent among the Slavs in their historic role as the gatekeepers of the civilisation defined by the Biblical-Classical synthesis in Christ and His Church, numerous adherents to which in the very land where it occurred where violently evicted therefrom in order to make way for, supposedly, "the West's outpost in the region", even to the point of its being permitted to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest.
All hail the Mossad Martyr of the Daily Telavivagraph, the man whose "spiritual warfare" removed from the supposed newspaper of orthodox Catholics a man who campaigns for the genocide of the Middle East's Christians. Ah, the power of prayer, how very effective it is.
ReplyDeleteSo I have always believed.
ReplyDeleteWell it is a member of the Council of Europe along with Georgia and Armenia.
ReplyDeleteArmenia has every business being there. As Georgia would have if she were more faithful to her roots.
ReplyDeleteSince Israel and Azerbaijan became active member countries of EBU(European Broadcasting Union) Some c/p from wikipedia: The Eurovision Song Contest is an annual competition held among active member countries of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The European Broadcasting Area is defined by the International Telecommunication Union as such: The "European Broadcasting Area" is bounded on the west by the western boundary of Region 1, on the east by the meridian 40° East of Greenwich and on the south by the parallel 30° North so as to include the northern part of Saudi Arabia and that part of those countries bordering the Mediterranean within these limits. In addition, Iraq, Jordan and that part of the territory of Syrian Arab Republic, Turkey and Ukraine lying outside the above limits are included in the European Broadcasting Area.[1]The western boundary of "Region 1" is a line drawn west of Iceland down the centre of the Atlantic Ocean[2].The boundaries of the European Broadcasting Area have their origin in the regions served and linked by telegraphy cables in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The European Broadcasting Area plays a part in the definition of eligibility for active membership in the European Broadcasting Union and thus participation in the Eurovision Song Contest
ReplyDeleteSo much for Western civilisation, then...
