If the Lib Dems are against depriving the people of England of the NHS rightly taken for granted in the rest of the United Kingdom, then there is no Commons majority for that Blairite deprivation, which therefore cannot proceed. Get over it. You win some, you lose some.
I saw all the fuss about the Blue Labour book yesterday. Where was the Lindsay chapter? Could they not fit it in? Surely a man as well connected and influential as you was asked to pen a few words?
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm more than busy enough as it is.
ReplyDeleteThere are several Blue Lbaour books in various pipelines. Which one do you mean?
But apart from answering that, on topic, please.
He probably means the Purple Book, which has nothing do with BL or your own work and might not go ahead after all because Blairism is dead. Whatever he means he only seems to have read about it in a newspaper or something, we don't need to tell you that he is not an insider. Under Blair maybe, but not now that "we've got our party back".
ReplyDeleteQuite.
ReplyDeleteEr, the one released yesterday? With an Ed Miliband foreword? With your big chum Maurice Glasman writing in it? Surely you know about this one
ReplyDeleteSo were you asked, or not? And if you said no, why?
Of course I know about it. I know about all sorts of things, darling. Unlike you, obviously. But you know that you don't know them...
ReplyDeleteNow, I mean it, on topic.
The ebook is good, I assume you have read it, but you were never going to be a contributor to something featuring David Miliband and James Purnell, men behind the policies decried in this post and many others. Looks like BL still thinks that anyone will do if they have a Labour party card. Your approach is very different. Still, Maurice has already sent in his essay for something edited by you so relations are cordial.
