The way for everyone else to compete is apparently to pay less, and David Cameron has accordingly just announced the mass reduction in the wages and working conditions of the only people trained to deliver public services, through their transfer to the employ of the unaccountable, largely foreign companies that bankroll his party.
But the way for the City to compete is apparently to pay more, and more, and more. Underwritten, if not directly provided, by the workers in and the users of the public services. Or, rather, by those who used to work in and use those services, in the days when they still existed.
Well, no more. Not bonuses merely for doing your job properly. Fines if you don't.
