For five thousand years, China has always given or lent more than could possibly be reciprocated or repaid, thereby placing the other party forever in China's debt. And China, not the World Bank, is now the biggest lender to developing countries.
But is that so huge a problem? China, after all, is a sovereign state rather than an institutional expression of globalism. She needs the natural resources so that she can give up her very un-Confucian one child policy and revert to her own culture and this, as on so much else. In that vein, she is passing through the gangster capitalism that follows Communism, and reverting to her own Agrarian and Distributist focus on the family and the local community, valuing tradition and ritual, and giving priority to growing, raising, making, building and mining things that really exist.
Would that we had an Agrarian and Distributist focus on the family and the local community, valuing tradition and ritual, giving priority to growing, raising, making, building and mining things that really existed. And would that we expressed national sovereignty rather than globalism. Then, if the rise of China is such a problem, then it certainly would not be our problem.
