Mullin It Over
Chris Mullin's diaries are invaluable. But somewhere behind the Murdoch paywall, he has apparently published a review suggesting that even he, who as an MP voted against the Iraq War, does not believe that Blair was wilfully dishonest about WMD. Really? Blair himself has admitted it. To Fern Britton, the woman who should have Andrew Marr's job. And now, Blair has also admitted that he was as drunk as George "Pretzel" Bush during their global rampage.
Can he be held responsible if he was that drunk?
ReplyDeleteAs much as if he had killed someone while driving a car in that condition. So, yes.
ReplyDeleteYou do realise, don't you, that saying things as silly as that ("Blair was as drunk as Bush throughout the Iraq war") just make you look like a loon, and undermine any serious point you may be trying to make?
ReplyDeleteBlair has admitted it, and everyone has always known about Bush.
ReplyDeleteIt could not be clearer who are the loons, with nothing worthwhile to say: the tiny number of people in this country who still have the slightest good word about Tony Blair. They have been trying to post their howls of rage as comments here. But, for all the comedy value, I am not going to let them.
There are many reasons why middle-aged men shouldn't drink like teenagers. But they sometimes do.
Their bender started well before Iraq, Rem. Blair's started long before Bush became President, when he was hanging around with that Bill Clinton, a very bad influence.
ReplyDeleteOh, in ways almost too numerous to list.
ReplyDeleteBlair's hero-worship of Clinton seemed funny at the time. But it wasn't. And what by all accounts is his book's pathetic, wannabe defence of Clinton's infidelity really is despicable.
Still wiating for you to back up your claim about Blair with his exact words.
ReplyDeleteFrit.
A man now effectively exiled from this country, so why bother? Will you be going with him? I sincerely hope so? Perhaps we should track you down and make you?
