Happy Saint Helena's Day
God Save The Queen.
How and why Portuguese sailors were using a Byzantine liturgical calendar in 1502, I do not know. Does anyone else?
I was pleasantly surprised to hear about your St. Helena connection.
I have a strange, inexplicable interest in Tristan da Cunha ever since I saw a documentary about it as a child.
I have the Tristan website in my bookmarks and I have a look from time to time.
There's nothing I like better on a Friday after work than cracking open some Polish beer and catching up with the news from the world's most remote settlement. Yes, it is weird.
Perhaps Pat from the Yard is confusing St. Helena with St. Helens. Woolybacks!
God Save Mrs Queen!
ReplyDeleteShe has a lot in common with the people of St Helena. She married her cousin as well.
God Save Mrs Queen!
Cousin marriage is unheard of in Saint Helena. You are thinking of rather closer to home.
ReplyDeleteSomeone like Pat from the Yard hates anyone who is proud to be British.
