Special relationships. Or, as George Washington called them, "permanent, entangling alliances". What does America get out of them?
Forget Britain. America does not have a special relationship with Britain. That exists only in the minds of our simpleton Political Class.
But we see today what America gets out of her permanent entanglement with South Korea.
We saw on 11th September 2001 what America gets out of her permanent entanglement with Saudi Arabia.
And we see all the time what America gets out of her permanent entanglement with Israel, which is unlike South Korea, Saudi Arabia or indeed Britain in being none of a major investor in America, or a major source of imports to America, or a major destination for imports from America, or an important source of immigrants to America, or a significant American tourist destination, or a participant in any American-led military campaign, ever.
