Apparently, they know the answer here at Durham, where they have just heavily voted down "This House believes that Catholic morality has no place in the twenty-first century". For the proposition was Julian Baggini, who seems to be a philosopher in much the way that Richard Dawkins is a scientist. Which is to say, not really at all.
Durham? Isn't that where a newspaper exposed your desperate attempts to get noticed by the press?
ReplyDeleteThe organ to which you refer is not a newspaper. My, but it was hilarious to watch their stupefied disbelief that they couldn't just get rid of me or something. Such is the arrogance of extreme youth, of course. At least they never heard what senior University figures said to me about them and about their - how shall I put this - "publication"...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, on topic, please.
At least compared to them. I don't know if you know this, David, but while you were on an operating table or in a hospital bed, they were placed under investigation by the police and the social services for different reasons in each case. Your enemies should be a lot more careful of the company they keep.

ReplyDeleteThey thought it was going to be picked up by a national newspaper! Arrogant little sods.
ReplyDeleteLook like they'll be giving you no more trouble, though. Andrew Rawnsley is very lucky that he is not up against David Lindsay. A man his age must have enough dirt on him to cause a murder or a suicide. You'd do it, too.
