"Exonerated" (His Honour Judge Nathan Adams, Durham Crown Court, 8 May 2025). Two-time political prisoner. Beaten up in prison, so I fear only God. Activist, journalist, hymn-writer, emerging thinktanker, aspiring novelist, "tribal elder", 2019 parliamentary candidate for North West Durham, Shadow Leader of the Opposition, "Speedboat", "The Cockroach".
Do you honestly believe it is possible to graduate from Oxford, as Blair did, or Cambridge, as Thatcher did, without having read a book?
ReplyDeleteEvidently.
ReplyDeleteEvidently you believe it, or evidently it is possible?
ReplyDeleteBoth.
ReplyDeleteAnd Thatcher went to Oxford, not Cambridge. She now enthusiastically raises money for Cambridge, but then Oxford refused her an honorary degree back in her heyday.
I'm not sure who the last Cambridge PM was. Until Brown, the rule for a very long time was an Oxford degree or (Churchill, Callaghan, Major) no degree. Major's Cabinet was heavily Cambridge but none of them ever became PM.
