Fraser Nelson on the unremarkable alliance between the Tories and a party which, while it has some noisy Hard Left activists, is really a coalition of neoliberal leaders and paleoconservative voters (the reason for the eventual opposition to the Iraq War - that one went to the wire).
They are not called the Tartan Tories for nothing. Indeed, the reason why the Tories no longer dominate Scotland is that their natural constituency still turns out devoutly, but now votes SNP instead. Well, why ever not? No wonder that the Tories at Westminster call the SNP "the Cameron Highlanders" and regard them as at least as much part of the family as the Ulster Unionists are. The UUP is not actually led by Thatcherites.
Meanwhile, what about those saltires in Tripoli? Did they just happen to own them anyway? Did they confect them on the spot? Or had there been ... no, it would be wicked to speculate in such terms.
