Water bills to go up nine per cent above inflation by 2015.
Approved by the "regulator", of course.
What is to be done?
Public ownership.
Which, of course, means British ownership. How could any conservative possibly be against that? How could any conservative possibly be in favour of the ownership of key national resources by foreign interests? The only way to prevent that under all circumstances is public ownership.
My name is Tim Gatt and I work for Sky News. Would you be available to talk to Sky News about the case for public ownership of utilities in the next few days? Please give me a call on 020 7585 4569 or email me on tim.gatt@bskyb.com
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely do this! What a great opportunity.
ReplyDeleteJust don't repeat yourself endlessly. Or use horribly complex sentences with mangled grammar and syntax. Or ask pointless rhetorical questions. Or, in short, speak like you write blog posts.
"Horribly"? "Mangled"? "Pointless rhetorical"?
ReplyDeleteThe word for which you are looking is "educated".
Anonymous has a point, David - you can be terribly unclear, and often sound very pompous. I mean in the way you phrase things - but that last comment of yours came across as very pompous too.
ReplyDeleteUnclear to whom? Obviously not to Tim Gatt, for a start.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, back on topic.
Have you called him yet? When are you going on? Do let us know so we can tune in.
ReplyDeleteI've emailed him my moblie number. But whether I'd get enough notice to blog about it before the event, I have no idea.
ReplyDeleteHave you been on yet? Did we miss you? What did you say?
ReplyDeleteNot yet. I assume that they are collecting phone numbers for future reference.
ReplyDeleteI don't think so - he definitely said "in the next few days". And you could talk on plenty of other issues than public ownership. You should call him and have a chat through your areas of expertise.
ReplyDeleteHe'll ring me if and when he needs me.
