Is Labour, as Harriet Harman said last night, the "sister party of the Democrats"?
Both have been bulwarks of patriotism, and of moral and social conservatism, against the anti-conservative and anti-patriotic forces of capitalism in general and global capitalism in particular, and thus also against the Jacobinism, Marxism, anarchism and Fascism into which the "free" market drives its despairing victims by the million.
But then both switched sides.
The registration, primary and caucus systems make it possible to take back the Democratic Party, and that must be done as a matter of the utmost urgency. But there is no such hope for Labour. The true British sister, at least of what the Democratic Party can and should be, is here.
