We still have vacancies for European candidates, and won't be publishing the full list until it is complete. So get in touch, anyone who can sign up to this.
Meanwhile, set up forum sites or what have you if you like. I'll even link to them from here.
But this is the job in hand, and I make no apology for attending to it.
Furthermore, do not assume that nothing is going on just because it has not reported on whatever it is that is read by Westminster Village pretty people and other Sixth Formers.

David – I’m the person setting up the posters in Bristol (someone pointed out to me this was being discussed here). I emailed you a while back about it, but didn’t get any response, so I just went ahead and did it. You don’t have a party logo, for example, so I made one up.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I really like what the BPA is doing, and I agree with all of its proposals. But I’m not so convinced that I want to work under an established party structure, so I’m just freelancing myself under the BPA banner for the time being. Hope you don’t mind.
Probably while I was in hospital. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, email me again. If it's after about 5:45, then you won't get a reply until tomorrow afternoon. But you will certainly get a reply.
Not a problem - you probably get hundreds of emails a day.
ReplyDeleteBut like I said, ever since I started off doing this under my own steam, I've actually grown to like it. So much so, in fact, that I'd really prefer to keep it that way. I'm happy to let you know what I'm doing, but I don't really want to be under the control of any formal party system, and I don't want to be constrained by a party line that you or the executive make up. I want to decide what I want to say, when I want to say it.
Hope that's ok.
If you are using the name, then we will need to have a look.
ReplyDeleteBut a political party is by definition the voice of one or more wider subcultures, at least if it wants to succeeed. So good luck, and keep up the good work.
As I said, email me - davidaslindsay@hotmail.com
Well, I have to keep using the name - after all, I invented the logo, and that's the name of the movement people down here associate me with. Like you yourself said, you're having trobule down here, so I am de factor the official BPA presence. That's what I figure anyway, and that's what I'm telling people.
ReplyDeleteSo thanks for your thanks - I'm happy you agree the BPA needs some flexibility in this area. So I'll keep on ploughing the BPA furrow down here, with my own subtle West Country spin on it. Nothing too major though.
As a registered political party, we have legal rights and responsibilities in relation to our registered name. So yes, we really do need to hear from you without delay, in order to regularise the situation.
ReplyDeleteWe are very, very grateful for you work. But rules are rules, and we don't make them. But we are required to keep them.
I think you're being a bit of a stickler for the rules - no-one is ever going to kick up a fuss, and its not like there's a fundamental disagreement. So I'm sorry, but I just don't accept that I need to submit to you or anyone else in order to "regularise" any situation. I started this down here, I took it forward, and people respect me for me, not as some mouthpiece. I don't see anything to regularise.
ReplyDeleteIf you are using the name without our say-so, then you are breaking the law, and I am breaking it if I let you carry on. It's not as if we'd say no. But we have to say yes, explicitly.
ReplyDeleteAnd you can't object, as a supporter organising other supporters, to being in close contact with us.
How hard is it to send one email?
There is no Robert Jones in the email directory at Bristol.
ReplyDeleteHe is welcome to email me from any address he likes. Just so long as he does.
ReplyDeleteYou still have vacancies for European candidates? How many vacancies, exactly?
ReplyDeleteI'll stand, though!
Bobby's logo is great - we've been using it for our BPA posters in Coventry. And we've taken bits and pieces of the party's policies from the website, but to be honest some of them are a bit flaky, so we've left some bits out and added a few embellishments of our own.
ReplyDeleteGot a lot of interest here, though - thanks for getting the ball rolling, David. You'll always be seen as a key figure in BPA history, even if you end up taking a smaller role in future.
Both of you, email me urgently - davidaslindsay@hotmail.com
